Communion

"Do this in remembrance of me.. .and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, 'Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.' In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This, do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me. For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.' " 1 Corinthians 11:24-26

'Therefore whoever eats the bread, or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. A person ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup". (I Corinthians 11:27-28)

Prepare yourself by:

· Self examination (I Corinthians 11:27)

· Confessing my sins (I John 1:9)

· Recommitment (Romans 12:1)

· Restoring relationships (Matthew 5:23-24)

WHEN & HOW OFTEN SHOULD WE OBSERVE THE LORD’S SUPPER?

Jesus never said when, or how often believers should observe the Lord’s Supper. He instituted it on a Thursday night. Since it is a “supper,” it may seem appropriate to observe it at an evening service. Here at Family Community Church, we have elected to observe the Lord’s Supper on the first (1st) Sunday of each month during our worship services.
